How to Quote an Automated Gate Installation

A professional quotation should describe a technically supportable scope and make commercial assumptions visible. The total is important, but the record behind it protects both installer and customer.

Start from approved survey evidence

Confirm the physical site, measurements, access restrictions, supporting structures and power assumptions. Resolve contradictions before selecting products or promising a delivery date.

Define the gate and automation scope

Record gate type, dimensions, infill or design, finish, operating direction, motor, controls, safety equipment and access accessories. Separate confirmed selections from allowances or provisional items.

Include associated work

State whether civil works, drainage, electrical supply, networking, removal, making good, traffic management, delivery and commissioning are included. Ambiguous boundaries create avoidable disputes.

Calculate with controlled prices

Use current product prices, labour assumptions, quantities, margin and applicable tax. Preserve the quoted snapshot and create a revision if the scope or supplier price changes.

Review the customer document

Check identity, address, totals, validity, payment stages, exclusions and attached visuals. Open the exported PDF before sending and retain the exact issued version.
